Last Thursday, June 12, 2014, Oneonta Job Corps Academy held a Student Recognition Ceremony at the City of Oneonta Municipal Airport, which was attended by Congressman Chris Gibson.

Community Relations Counsel Chairperson, Mayor Dick Miller, recognized Oneonta Job Corps Academy for its partnership with the Oneonta Airport Commission in renovating the airport terminal since last summer.

Congressman Gibson seconded this sentiment, acknowledging that much has changed and improved with the relationship between Job Corps and the community over the last few years. “I don’t know where we would be without Job Corps” said the Congressman.

Along with the Oneonta City Manager Mike Long, Congressman Gibson handed out commemorative airplane pins and City of Oneonta pins to each of the Oneonta Job Corps Student and staff who have participated in the project.

In addition, Special Assistant to State Senator Jim Seward, Katherine Moshier, provided certificates from the senator for the students.
