Labor Day weekend at the Oneonta Farmers’ Market will include free tastings, live music, and a huge variety of fresh, locally-raised foods for the kitchen or BBQ with great recipe ideas for the holiday weekend.

This Saturday, at 10am, bluesman John Gillespie will perform at the Oneonta Farmers’ Market, offering a family-friendly repertoire of traditional acoustic blues.  With music deeply rooted in the styles of the great bluesmen from the Mississippi Delta and East Coast Piedmont regions, Gillespie has toured extensively throughout the Northeast and across the country with various constellations.  As a solo act he has something to offer to any music lover, from the lonesome cries of Robert Johnson to the intense raw energy of Muddy Waters.

The late season harvest is in full swing and local farmers will offer everything from sweet corn, tomatoes, squash, and onions, to eggplant, broccoli, beans, cauliflower, melons, berries, and other homegrown, handpicked fruits and vegetables.   Vendors will also have their usual array of grass-fed meats and poultry, stunning perennial bouquets, potted herbs and ferns, maple and honey products, baked goods, preserves, specialty sauces, hand-made crafts, and more.

This year’s Grand and Glorious Garage Sale event will be held next Satuday September 6, 2014.  The Oneonta Farmers’ Market’s Corn Roast event, sponsored by Hughson and Benson, has therefore been moved to September 13th.

The Oneonta Farmers’ Market accepts WIC and Senior Coupons.  The Oneonta Farmers' Market is held every Saturday throughout the season from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at Oneonta’s Main Street Plaza under the white canopies right in front of the Clarion Hotel.
