New York is making available $26 million for the Affordable Home Ownership Development Program. Grants of up to $40,000 per home are available to eligible municipalities, municipal housing authorities, and other not-for-profit and charitable organizations that develop affordable housing or assist income-eligible homeowners in funding necessary repairs. Application deadline is Feb. 16. Since 2011 the program has awarded nearly $198 million to create or improve more than 10,400 homes.
