As tax filing season gets into high gear the Internal Revenue Service is warning to be alert for tax return preparers who promise massive tax refunds.The IRS says one thing to watch for is a preparer saying you can file for credits or benefits that you’ve never been able to claim in the past.

Experts say if a preparer is promising something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The IRS lists the scams known as the “Dirty Dozen” on its website irs.gov.
