During his 11 years in the majors "Monbo" was a four time All Star.  He threw a no hitter on August 1, 1962.  He pitched for the Detroit Tigers, Yankees, Giants and most notably with the Boston Red Sox.

For several years Bill Monbouquette was a fixture at Oneonta's Damaschke Field where he was a pitching coach.  He was friendly, accessible  and enjoyed being with our local youth.
