As we enter October, Halloween is quickly creeping closer! Have you already begun to decorate you house and plan the perfect costume? If not, have no fear! You still have time, but it is running short, so here's some inspiration to get you planning your perfect Halloween weekend.

If you're having trouble planning a costume here are some things to consider: do you want to dress up alone or with a group of friends? Group/couple costumes are always fun but sometimes it's even more fun to stand alone. You can never go wrong dressing up as your favorite character from a movie, tv show or book and that works for group costumes too! Pop culture references are also always a hit (if done appropriately). If you're more into DIY projects then puns might be your savior this Halloween. Dress up as a ceiling fan by simply taking an old shirt you don't mind writing on and write "Go Ceilings!" on it, maybe even take it to the next level and break out the old cheerleading outfit for that one. As for kids you can never go wrong with their favorite animal or even favorite food!
Now that you've got your costume planned where do you plan on showing it off? You have a few different options for your Halloween weekend this year. Friday and Saturday night (Oct. 30, 31) the Oneonta Theatre will be hosting Punk Freak N Funk Halloween Party where the Sublime cover band, Bad Fish will be headlining Friday Night and Kung Fu Saturday night. On Saturday, TechNoir will also be hosting their 2nd annual Halloween party where there will be a Wes Craven themed costume contest plus some other spooky games. On Friday and Saturday night Body By Stacy will be having a haunted house from 7pm- 11pm, and if you arrive early on Friday you'll catch a performance by The Thunderheads and some refreshments. Or maybe head over to Cooperstown to be apart of or just watch the Pumpkin Glow on Friday.  Also, as always the Oneonta Halloween parade is on October 31st at 7pm.
Still don't know what to do this Halloween? Have no fear! Just stay tuned to your favorite Townsquare Media station for more updates and trends as we get closer to Halloween!
