On Saturday February 18, the Greater Oneonta Historical Society hosts local historian Jim Loudon, who will present “The Otsego Trolley Line” at 2:00 PM at the History Center, 183 Main Street.  Loudon says that “Of all the railroads I have researched, none has intrigued me more than the Southern New York since most of the line was contained in Oneonta and Otsego County, as opposed to larger lines like the Delaware and Hudson or the Ulster and Delaware where Oneonta was a stop on an extended system.  The goal of my presentation will be to reveal the route of the SNY through our area and enable those who are interested to locate the remaining vestiges of "our" trolley line.” The program is in conjunction with the History Center's current exhibition, "Oneonta's Trolley Line: The Southern New York", which continues through April 22.

The program is free and open to the public. For more information, contact 607-432-0960 or info@OneontaHistory.org.
