The Oneonta Farmers’ Market will hold its last outdoor market of the season this Saturday from 9am-1pm on the market square before moving indoors for the winter.  The indoor season markets begin on Saturday November 1st at the Main Street Garage Walkway, two doors down from Latte Lounge.  New this year: Indoor markets will be held every Saturday all winter long.

This Saturday’s market will feature three college groups, presenting cooking demonstrations, pumpkin painting and informational displays.  A culinary team from SUNY’s Restaurant and Food Services department invites the community to stop by their table to view a cooking demonstration and sample delicious easy to prepare gourmet dishes made right on site using farmers’ market foods.  The Hartwick Education Club will host a pumpkin painting table for kids to raise money to sponsor subsequent events hosted by the Education Club.  Donations gratefully accepted.  Members of the Friends of Recreation and Conservation for Environmental Stewardship (FORCES) club at SUNY Oneonta will also be on site, sharing information about their conservation efforts as well as the community events they have planned for the remainder of the year to get community members excited about conservation.

This Saturday’s produce vendors will offer a bountiful selection of late season fruits and vegetables, including winter squash, Brussels sprouts, apples, raspberries, onions, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, garlic, greens, pumpkins, and much more.  Vendors will also have farm fresh eggs, poultry, beef, pork, maple syrup, honey, baked goods, prepared foods, preserves, and handmade woodcrafts.

The Oneonta Farmers’ Market will accept WIC and Senior Coupons until November 30th. The market is held every Saturday all year long, rain, snow or shine.  On November 1st the market will move indoors to the garage walkway two doors down from Latte Lounge and continue every Saturday throughout the year, 9am – 1pm.  For more information call 607-437-0158.
