Fatal Otsego County Motorcycle Accident

A fatal accident in Otsego County Sunday afternoon. New York State Police at Richfield Springs responded to an Otsego County 911 report of a serious personal injury accident involving a motorcycle on State Route 28 in the Town of Exeter. An investigation determined that 86 year old Herbert Black, of Remsen was operating his motorcycle northbound when he entered a curve in the roadway, was unable to maintain his lane and struck a street sign on the east shoulder. Black was ejected and suffered injuries to his head, neck and chest. Black was transported by Richfield Springs EMS to Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital where he was pronounced deceased at 5:48p.m.
