Given how little we’ve heard about the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, it’s appeared as though Fox may be a bit nervous or unsure about the film. We’re seven months away from the release, and we’ve yet to see a single promotional image or teaser, which is pretty unusual for a major blockbuster. There have been a lot of rumors swirling this week, and with the announcement that the film is heading back to do some reshoots, those rumors are swirling even more. But there’s some good news: you’ll be able to see the first teaser next month.

Over the last week, there have been a few rumors surrounding Josh Trank’s ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot, from a dubious report of Trank’s unprofessional behavior on set to the more positive rumors that the film is actually pretty good. We’ve heard both good and bad things, and it’s probably been easy for a lot of you to believe the bad, given that with any other major franchise/superhero film, we would have seen something official from the production by now.

And while we can’t speak to the quality of the film itself, Simon Kinberg has revealed one concrete fact: speaking to Latino-Review, the ‘Fantastic Four’ and ‘X-Men’ producer (and writer of ‘Days of Future Past’ and the upcoming ‘Apocalypse’) confirms that the first ‘Fantastic Four’ teaser will hit theaters with ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service’ on February 13:

To confirm - Fantastic Four will be doing 3-4 days of additional photography with director Josh Trank and some key cast members. We are very excited about the film and can’t wait for you to see what we’ve been up to. And you will be able to do that very soon as I can confirm here that the teaser will be on Kingsman in theaters February 13.

It’s not entirely clear why Fox has delayed revealing anything official from the reboot, but as some have pointed out, Josh Trank’s film is likely more character-driven, and rumor has it that the superheroes don’t actually become the Fantastic Four until closer to the end of the movie. Aside from that, and given the failures and disappointment of Fox’s previous two ‘Fantastic Four’ films, it’s pretty understandable that the studio is taking a more cautious approach in marketing the reboot—but the more they put off showing us anything from the film, the more suspicious people are becoming, and it then becomes easier for fans to believe some of the more negative rumors swirling around the production.

It looks like you can reserve your judgment until next month, when that first teaser arrives. ‘Fantastic Four’ hits theaters on August 7.
