According to an Oneonta Police press release, there was an attempted break-in at 224 Main Street in Downtown Oneonta at about 12:13am on Tuesday, August 4th.  Witnesses reported that one of three young males in their 20's broke a window at the business by kicking it and as a result sustained a serious injury.

Police were able to follow a trail of blood to 300 Main Street where they located the perpetrator with a lacerated leg, identified as Evan C. Bowker, 21 years of age from Oneonta.

Bowker was transported to A.O. Fox Hospital where he was treated and released.  Bowker has been charged with a class E felony of Criminal Mischief.  The maximum penalty for this charge is a term of imprisonment to not exceed 4 years.
