The Colin Farrell-Noomi Rapace revenge film 'Dead Man Down' opens in a few weeks, so we're going to see more and more about this movie, which reunites Rapace with her 'The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' director Niels Arden Oplev. Did they both make the transition to working in Hollywood? We'll know shortly, but here's a brief clip and featurette.

There's been some hype for this film, but it's hard for it to compare against the picture it's opening against, 'Oz: the Great and Powerful.' That's a big budget four-quadrant studio picture that likely cost over two hundred million to make. This is much smaller potatoes.

That said, Noomi Rapace has been in a number of Hollywood movies at this point between her appearance in the 'Sherlock Holmes' sequel and in 'Prometheus,' and it's hard to say if audiences have responded to her. It's easy to understand why both she and her 'Dragon Tattoo' director got the attention of the studio system: The original Swedish-language versions of the 'Tattoo' books were a worldwide hit. Now it's up to both of them to keep it.

Here's the film's synopsis:

DEAD MAN DOWN is an action thriller that stars Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace as two strangers whose mutual desire for revenge draws them together and triggers an escalating trail of mayhem. The film, which also stars Academy Award-nominee Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, marks the American theatrical debut of director Niels Arden Oplev (the original The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo)

And here's that featurette and clip. 'Dead Man Down' opens March 8.
