Yesterday marked the 30th Anniversary for the movie and soundtrack, "Purple Rain".  This, in my opinion is one of the best movie soundtracks ever.  Who can deny the huge hits, "Let's Go Crazy", "I Would Die 4 U", "Darling Nikki", "When Doves Cry" and the feature ballad, "Purple Rain."

The wedding weekend we’ve all been waiting for has officially commenced. There have been rumors flying around for weeks about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s nuptials, and we’re finally about to get some answers!

Dusty Hill (above middle), bassist for ZZ Top, celebrates his 65 birthday today.  This Houston formed rock trio also includes members Billy Gibbons (above right) on guitar and Frank Beard (above left) on drums.  Anybody else find it ironic that the the guy with the last name beard, doesn't have the signature beard associated with ZZ Top?

Tonight the Top 15 guys will face their destiny on American Idol.  The judges will call ten contestants to perform live and I can't wait to hear them say, "Ethan Harris".  Everyone at Townsquare Oneonta fell in love with this young talent in 2011 as Ethan stepped on the stage for his first ever appearance.  He entered our Jr Idol competition and took to the stage like a pro.

The rock group from Sayreville, New Jersey take the spotlight today in music history.  Bon Jovi, featuring Jon Bovi on vocals, Ritchie Sambora on guitar, Dave Bryan on keyboards, Alec John Such on bass, and Tico Torres on drums, hit number one on the U.S. singles chart with 'Livin' On A Prayer', on this day in 1987.

This week American Idol will make some major cuts.  The Top 30 will be cut to the Top 13.  Ethan Harris of Garrattsville, NY will make is live solo performance on Wednesday along with the other top 14 guys.  Our votes will get Ethan to the Top 13!

A new twist this year on American Idol as contestants arrive in Hollywood.  As if Hollywood week isn't nerve wracking enough, imagine being at a converted airport hanger and finding out you might go home the first day.
