The Guilford man accused of murdering his adopted son who asked for a bail reduction got the amount lowered but nowhere near what he was asking for. According to court papers attorneys for Ernest Franklin II sought a reduction from $125,000 cash or $250,000 bond to $40,000 cash. A judge cut the bond to $200,000 but kept the cash bail where it is. Prosecutors say Franklin and his wife Heather killed the 16-year-old boy in February and covered it up by starting their home on fire.
