Eight members of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office graduated from Equine Mounted Police School on November 17th.According to Sheriff-Elect Craig DuMond,  this is the 2nd group of officers to graduate and join the Sheriff’s Mounted Patrol Division. During the week-long academy members and their equine mounts were exposed to a variety of desensitizing activities such as flashing lights, loud sounds, pyrotechnics, flares, smoke, and gunfire. The academy instructor was Karleen DuMond, owner/operator of Golden Gait Farm in Masonville, N.Y.
